Our company is looking for a detail-oriented, multi-tasking experienced Accountant to help keep our business operations running smoothly. Familiarity with franchise agreements and compliance processes preferred.
This key role of this position is to work closely with our Controller to assist in monthly accounting and franchisee-related tasks for our multiple brands of Mosquito Authority (MA), Pest Authority (PA) and Fitness Machine Technicians (FMT).
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional who can assist our Controller in day-to-day accounting, franchise-related tasks that are time sensitive. He or she will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and direction, as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results. Additionally, the ideal candidate will protect the confidentiality of all compliance documentation and company financials. This position will report directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities
Franchise contract administration -Following franchise law requirements in sending and receiving our Franchise Disclosure Documents, renewals and agreements to existing franchisees and potential franchisees
Processing SBA loan addendums, amendments, promissory notes and assignments as needed
Process invoices, payables and receivables in QuickBooks for National Accounts
Monthly royalty invoice processing and collections for FMT franchise
Monthly revenue reporting for FMT franchise
Monthly financial reporting for FMT franchise and budget vs. actual analysis
Monthly tracking of franchise territory & unit sales
Monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax filings
Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors
Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconcilations
Posting monthly journal entries for insurance, depreciation, prepaids and accruals
Understand GAAP accounting principles
Assist with year-end audit
Assist with annual budget preparation
Requirements
Associate's Degree in Accounting or higher
At least 2-4 years of hands on Accounting experience
Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks
Multi-company accounting experience preferred
Experience with multi-state sales tax requirements preferred
Experience with bank account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable processes
Ability to work independently
Exemplary planning and time management skills
Professional and high level written and oral communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
Builds rapport easily with other team members and franchisees
Required to work from Charlotte, NC office
