    Job Description

    We seek a talented mid-level Print Production Design Artist on an Independent Contractor basis with potential future FT employment. This position primarily works on packaging layout designs for a major CPG client, with brand design crossover into the adaptation of packaging and digital advertising. This person will seamlessly transition projects from creative to the pre-flight/final release stage in the production process. This position assists Creative and Art Directors in designing and carrying through conceptual work across multi-SKU packaging programs, solving, and developing new package solutions across an array of die types, sizes, and shapes.

    This person must be highly collaborative and possess great problem-solving skills, while efficiently maximizing their talents, expertise, and resources helping to push their client deliverables to the next level, while maintaining consistency and original brand aesthetic through the entire process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Management of print production projects from start to finish.
    • Must art direct, driving projects from inception to completion, making creative decisions, and providing solutions.
    • Deconstruct and rebuild creative files for optimal final output; print and digital.
    • Provide constructive feedback to team members to improve overall quality and efficiency.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the account management team, designers, photographers, videographers, and content strategists, to deliver cohesive and visually stunning content.
    • Efficiently act upon client direction and revisions in a timely manner meeting or exceeding deadlines in an often fast-paced work environment.
    • Create and refine brand guidelines for new or current brands.
    • Collaborate with photographers, designers, and production teams to establish and uphold color standards for all projects.
    • Conduct thorough quality checks on all visual content, ensuring it meets our high standards for color accuracy, image quality, and visual impact, including proofing of their own work before turning it over for client review.
    • Check all layout specs including dies, bleeds, trim, high-res imagery, color models, etc.
    • Implement and maintain rigorous color management practices to ensure consistent and accurate color reproduction across all media and platforms.
    • Work with the preflight team to manage photography and brand colors.
    • File management and organization of all jobs and reference files on the server.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must have expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience working on packaging pull-through from an established brand design and experience working in a fast-paced agency setting.
    • Operate with a strong understanding of brand guidelines and the relationships between the graphic elements; how to adapt and apply[JB1] them to multiple die line types: cartons, poly bags, hang tags, and clamshell inserts.
    • A good design eye, and ability to make brand adaptation decisions on complicated die lines while keeping the brand look intact and consistent.
    • Ability to pivot to other packaging pull-through requests based on client needs.
