    Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! Responsibilities: Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients Keep client files properly organized and up to date Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants • Manage full case handling responsibilities from inception through resolution • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues relating to ongoing or potential cases • Draft and review initial pleadings, motions, briefs, and other pleadings • Appear in Court to represent clients • Prepare clients and cases for trial • Interact with clients and work with experts; and • Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients Qualifications: At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • Licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia • Must have at least three years of family law litigation experience (This is non-negotiable) • Excellent writing and oral communication skills • Must be familiar with Google Drive and G-Suite products PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Criminal and/or Personal Injury law experience, highly desired • MyCase (case management system) experience, highly desired Compensation: $92,500 - $110,000
