    Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. If you are passionate about helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges they may face in their lives, start your application today Responsibilities: • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action • Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants • Manage full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues relating to ongoing or potential cases • Draft and review initial pleadings, motions, briefs, and other pleadings • Appear in Court to represent clients • Prepare clients and cases for trial • Interact with clients and work with experts • Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients Qualifications: • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia • Must have at least three years of family law litigation experience (This is non-negotiable) • Excellent writing and oral communication skills • Must be familiar with Google Drive and G-Suite products Preferred Qualifications: • Family Law experience is a must! • MyCase (case management system) experience is highly desired • Estate Planning • Must be a "TEAM" player Compensation: $135,000 - $150,000
