Responsibilities: • Represent clients in court proceedings when necessary • Manage and oversee the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce cases • Advocate for clients by understanding their needs, analyzing situations, and developing action plans • Handle full case responsibilities from start to finish • Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for client documents • Conduct legal research and prepare reports on relevant case issues • Maintain a consistent schedule of court appearances, hearings, and meetings • Communicate effectively with senior partners, paralegals, and clients throughout the legal process • Provide leadership and guidance to legal assistants and paralegals • Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and pleadings • Prepare clients and cases for trial proceedings • Interact with clients and collaborate with experts when necessary • Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients • Uphold a professional demeanor in court appearances and client interactions • Organize and manage client files diligently to ensure accuracy and completeness Qualifications: • Must have at least 3 years of Family Law litigation experience - (non-negotiable) • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice in DC • Excellent writing and oral communication skills • Demonstrated ability to value client service and teamwork by managing relationships, both internal and external • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills • Efficient time management • Critical thinking • Multitasking abilities • Skilled in negotiation, and persuasion techniques • Must be familiar with Google Drive and G-Suite products • Must be able to think outside the box • Initiative and Independence Preferred Qualifications: • Criminal and/or Personal Injury law experience - highly desired • MyCase (case management system) experience - highly desired • Creative Problem Solving Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000 yearly
