    Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team! You will be leading a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs.

    You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment.

    Responsibilities:

    Works independently or along with director on the following responsibilities

    Be familiar with state regulations as well as with Program Policies of The Muse Academy.

    Keep the program current and in compliance with state regulations.

    In collaboration with the director, develop, plan and implement, with staff, a preschool program for children ages 6 weeks - 12 years that is developmentally appropriate and helps children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

    Understand Emergent Curriculum

    Have knowledge of California Preschool Learning Foundations

    Supervise, guide and train staff for their ongoing professional development.

    Assist in Onboarding of New Employees

    Ensure that all staff have read and are familiar with state regulations as well as the program policies for The Muse Academy.

    Along with the director, maintain children’s files (ensuring that all physical examination forms and health/immunization records are current).

    Maintain staff ratio, assigning staff as needed.

    Assist with organizing staff in-service training or other extracurricular activities throughout the year.

    Complete Teacher Evaluations

    Evaluate staff for strengths and weaknesses

    Check Weekly Lesson Plans to meet Emergent Curriculum, Milestones and California Learning Foundations

    Screen calls, take messages, gather information for a potential client, refer calls to Director

    Conduct Tours of The Muse Academy

    Visit classrooms regularly.

    Cover classrooms when needed

    Provide support and guidance to teachers throughout the school

    Review and approve weekly lesson plans

    Weekly Brightwheel Audit

    Monitor Brightwheel, respond to parents and bring any messages to Director’s attention if needed

    Safety Audit

    Ensure that Documentation boards are changed monthly in each room

    Ensure that Parent boards in each room are updated monthly by teachers

    Weekly KidKare Audit

    Complete and submit KidKare Claim monthly by the 12th

    Prepare snacks, lunch and serve

    Assist with maintaining the centers cleanliness

    Build relationships with families (at drop off/pick-up times, via phone calls, etc.)

    Meet with the Director and Program Owner monthly to assess progress and program needs.

    Attend a minimum of 6 hours of continuing education, seminars/workshops each school year.

    Qualifications:

    Remain current in First Aid and CPR for infants and children.

    Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising childcare staff

    Current Mandated Reporter Training

    Must have reached 18 years old

    Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma

    Must hold and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification

    Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds

    Must have a minimum of 5-year experience with children from birth to 5 years old, or school age in a home or preschool setting

    Must have at least 12 units of early childhood development or childhood education units. The following classes must be part of those 12 units; Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, Program/Curriculum and Other; Infant, School-age, etc.

    Must have valid Mandated Reporter Training Certificate

    Must have proof or will get proof of Fingerprint clearance (Live Scan) before the first scheduled day of work.

    Must have current valid driver’s license or state ID card

    Must have proof of immunizations (Pertussis, Measles, Influenza or signed declaration declining vaccine) or provide proof within 1 week of start date

    Must have a current (within 1 year) Physicians Health Screen or have one completed within 1 week of start date.

    Must have a current (within 1 year) TB positive test result or obtain a test within 1 week of start date.
