    ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

    The National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR) works to reduce incarceration and violence, improve the outcomes of system-involved youth and adults, and increase the capacity and expertise of the organizations that serve these individuals. NICJR provides technical assistance, consulting, research, organizational development, and advocacy in the fields of juvenile and criminal justice, youth development, and violence prevention.     NICJR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Administrative Assistant will work directly with NICJR Executive Director and OperationsCoordinator to coordinate and manage the multi-faceted work of the organization. Knowledge about the criminal justice system, communicating across industry sectors of bureaucracy, philanthropy, non-profit operations, and/or community-based organizations will prove helpful in successful execution of tasks.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete general administrative tasks at the direction of the Executive Director including but not limited to:
    • Manage team calendar, prepare meeting agendas, and take meeting minutes.o Assist with the Executive Director’s scheduling and ensure ED is prepared for community and partner meetings
    • Work with the direct service program staff to regularly update data bases
    • Assist with booking travel for the ED and other staff member so Support with donor communications, including appeal and thank you letter 
    • Support with NICJR social media
    • Work with Operations Coordinator to update and maintain team/project management tools
    • Additional Duties as assigned
    • Occasionally travel with ED and/or other staff to attend and take notes for meetings

    SKILLS:

    • Adept in Technology: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.
    • Written and Verbal Communication
    • Independent Time Management
    • Detail Oriented
    • Comfortable working remotely as well as in teams
    • Experience with Adobe Acrobat a plus
    • Social media experience a plus

    TIME AND COMPENSATION:

    This is a full-time position that can be remote, though candidate must be based in the Bay Area. Attendance at quarterly, in-person team meetings is required. A competitive compensation package will be provided to the selected candidate.
