Who We Are…
The Ned NoMad is a new members’ club and hotel that opened in the heart of New York in summer 2022. It’s the first international ‘Ned’ site to open following the launch of The Ned London in 2017.
The Property…
Located in The Johnston Building and formerly the NoMad Hotel in Manhattan, the property was built in 1903 as a store and office building. The original architectural features have been honored, with interiors designed by the Soho House Design team.
The Ned NoMad offers a mix of members-only and public spaces, including 167 bedrooms and suites. Ned’s Club will give members access to a rooftop bar and terrace restaurant as well as a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge with live entertainment from The Atrium Stage, seven nights a week. New to the property is Cecconi’s, a modern day classic Italian restaurant.
The Role…
We are looking for a motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will report directly to the Controller. Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being able to exhibit the highest level of accounting support to all guests, vendors and other departments is a must.
Main Duties…
· As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will ensure that invoices and payments are processed according to company policy and procedures.
· Complete daily income journal, credit card reconciliation and investigate variances.
· Maintain vendor documentation required for 1099 processing.
· Persuasively champion accounting policies and procedures by partnering with department heads and influencing consistency.
· Maintains strong relationship with vendors and responds/resolves inquiries in a timely manner.
· Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to create a processing flow that ensures purchase orders correspond with invoices and are processed in a timely manner.
· Post and process weekly manual checks, wires, Fintech payments and ACH payments.
· Support with month end closing process that includes timely reconciliation of the checkbook, vendor statements and month end accruals.
· Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation for the assigned accounts.
· Prepares monthly intercompany billback and reconciliation.
· Collaborate with various departments and team members in completing assigned projects.
· Assist with the preparation of various ad-hoc analysis and tasks assigned by Controller.
Requirements
● A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a fast paced and professional environment.
● Previous experience working in accounts payable or accounting within the hospitality industry is preferred.
● Knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practices is preferred.
● Capable of managing variety of tasks and assessing by priority.
● Proven success of “champion of the culture,” facilitating excellent communication and engagement.
● Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute.
● Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive.
