The Northport Hotel is a new and enchanting Long Island boutique hotel located in the heart of Northport Village. With its ideal location, the hotel offers guests a unique and memorable experience, featuring a variety of amenities, comfortable accommodations, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. The Northport Hotel is ideally located on Main Street, steps from the harbor and across the street from the John W. Engeman Theater, Where Broadway Meets Main Street. The village offers shopping, nightlife, art galleries, The Northport Museum, and more, providing guests with various activities and adventures to enjoy during their stay. The hotel's Restaurant and bar, led by Executive Chef Michael Ross, brings guests on a culinary voyage, offering a selection of steaks, seafood, signature cocktails, craft beers, and an extensive wine list.
The Northport Hotel is a brand-new full-service hotel operation with a robust food and beverage operation, in both à la carte and private parties. The ownership has managed this hotel since its inception in 2023, and you will find that the ownership management structure allows for easy communication and quick decision making for our management team.
The General Manager will lead a management team that maximizes the return on the owner's investment by relentlessly pursuing the highest levels of employee and guest satisfaction, waging a professional sales effort, while utilizing effective cost controls and revenue management techniques.

I. Leadership
· Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse team of department heads, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
· Set clear expectations and provide the guidance necessary to achieve exceptional performance.
· Possessing a leadership presence that is genuine, positive, and approachable. The GM should be able to inspire and motivate others and earn the respect of the guests and employees as well as the community at large.
II. Guest Experience
· Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by overseeing the implementation of service standards, personalized experiences, and swift resolution of any issues.
· Continuously seek opportunities to enhance guest interactions and exceed expectations.
III. Financial Performance
· Develop and execute strategies to maximize revenue, optimize expenses, and achieve budgetary goals.
· Monitor financial performance through regular analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.
· Proven ability to consistently define and achieve goals and objectives with verifiable fiscal discipline.
IV. Operational Excellence
· Maintain a seamless and efficient operation by overseeing all aspects of hotel / restaurant management, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
· Implement best practices to uphold quality and safety standards.
· Has demonstrated knowledge of current technology and future trends in hotel / restaurant and how it can be best utilized for owners, guests, and employees.
· A visionary who can deliver quality services and premier customer service experience. Having a verifiable record of success in food and beverage operations is particularly important and must be a part of one’s skillset.
V. Community Engagement
· Establish strong relationships within the community, participate in local associations positioning the hotel / restaurant as an integral part of downtown Northport and Long Island.
· Act as an ambassador and maintain a positive public image.
VI. Strategic Planning
· Collaborate with ownership and department heads to develop and execute long-term strategies that align with company objectives and drive sustainable growth.

· Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, empowering team members to excel in their roles and advance within the growing company.
VIII. Background and Skills
· A bachelor’s degree is preferred with a focus on Hospitality Management.
· In lieu of the degree, substantial Private Club or hospitality experience will be considered.
· Exceptional Food & Beverage knowledge required.
· Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze data, develop budgets, and manage financial performance.
The candidate must possess excellent leadership and revenue management skills as well as strong oral and written communication abilities. The position requires developing an annual Business Plan, knowledge of reading and understanding monthly financial statements, excellent communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate the workforce at all levels.
