Job Description
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BECOME PART OF AN INNOVATIVE, CREATIVE, ENERGETIC, FUN AND HIGHLY SUPPORTIVE SCHOOL, NOVUS MIGHT BE THE SCHOOL YOU’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR.
The challenges educators will be facing throughout the 2021-2022 school year are multi-faceted and greater than we’ve experienced in schools throughout the country in most of our lifetimes.
The Novus Academy is a private school for students in grades K-12 with and without Learning Differences. CLASS SIZES RANGE BETWEEN 4:1 AND 12:1.
We’ve been successfully and effectively meeting the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students, families, for a long time. We are well prepared to provide support, assistance, and growth that other schools are likely to struggle with.
CONSIDERATIONS AS EDUCATORS ARE PREPARING FOR STUDENTS RETURNING IN-PERSON TO OUR SCHOOLS THIS AUGUST:
If you were teaching in a school last year, you understand how difficult it was to meet the needs of your students, yourself, and your family members. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has data that shows one-third of Americans are showing signs of clinical anxiety or clinical depression related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our kids are too. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/covid19/health-care-access-and-mental-health.htm
In the field of education, it’s anticipated that many students will return with significant academic needs. As students return to schools this fall, their mental health needs will need to be addressed before their academic needs can effectively be met.
If the CDC data is reflective of students and teachers within 7 public school districts around the Novus Academy, APPROXIMATELY 49,653 (1/3 of total student population in the districts during the 2019-2020 school year) AND APPROXIMATELY 3,390 (1/3 of total number of teachers in the districts during the 2019-2020 school year) may show up for school needing more than academic support and instruction.
