A Research Associate laboratory position is available at Evrys Bio, LLC. The selected candidate will join an entrepreneurial team at a innovative biotech company focused on the discovery, research and development of novel small-molecule antiviral drugs. A successful candidate is expected to have a college level degree in biological sciences, be highly motivated and hard-working, and to have demonstrated expertise in laboratory skills in cellular and molecular biology.
Duties:
Propagation of several viruses (BSL-2 level) and cell lines for evaluation of candidate drugs
Standard analyses of cell growth properties and viral replication
Molecular and cell biological analysis of both viral and cellular targets of candidate drugs including signal transduction assays of observed antiviral effects
Routine screening of candidate drugs in high-throughput plate format (96, 384-well) and assay development
Efficient time management and multitasking, critical evaluation of primary data, effective record keeping, electronic laboratory notebook maintenance, standard laboratory set up, clean up and maintenance
Present experimental results to the research team on a regular basis and have interactions with all other Evrys team members; participate in manuscript publication.

Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor/Master’s degree in biological sciences and/or related disciplines with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on laboratory work experience in industry or academia
>2 years demonstrated expertise in tissue culture techniques, including with mammalian cell lines
>2 years demonstrated expertise in DNA/RNA handling and analyses (e.g. nucleic acid extraction, qPCR)
Standard protein analyses techniques (e.g., Western blot, Immunofluorescence assay)
Proficiency in spoken and written English, as well as relevant computer skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Standard bacterial genetics is a plus (e.g., plasmid preps, molecular cloning)
Previous work in the field of virology and/or cellular metabolism is strongly preferred
