JOB SUMMARY
The Network Engineer is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, upgrading, configuring, installing, and maintaining network connectivity and services in support of the business processing requirements at all Pasha work sites throughout the world.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
•
Maintain and support the integrity of the networking systems for the company’s worldwide production network.
•
Recommend and implement improvements of systems through the implementation of new technology or maximizing the efficiency of existing technology systems.
•
Provide detailed analysis of voice, video, data communications, and wireless networks for purposes of troubleshooting and optimal performance.
•
Develop procedures and work instructions which support organizational, operational, and security requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Administer, install, and troubleshoot network equipment in accordance with standards and operational requirements and in support of business operations.
•
Support troubleshooting of complex issues of the Cisco-based network, encompassing wireless infrastructure, LAN, and WAN platforms at all locations.
•
Perform network maintenance tasks including configuration reviews, quality assessments, and configuration back-ups.
•
Document network infrastructure and prepare deployment progress reports.
•
Schedule, install, and test firmware and software upgrades.
•
Work with customers, partners, and internal business units on network configuration changes.
•
Participate in daily operational and security monitoring of the network systems.
•
Use existing monitor software to ensure adherence to SLA.
•
Lead and participate on project teams.
•
Manage systems in accordance with corporate standards and procedures.
•
Provide upper level support to the Service Desk and system users.
•
Develop and maintain procedures and processes.
•
Provide meaningful information to upper management through project updates and key metrics.
•
Support Cisco Unified Communications.
•
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
•
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required
REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
•
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required
•
Valid state-issued driver license and acceptable driving record
PREFERRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
•
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or similar certification preferred
•
Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate certification preferred
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
•
3+ years of experience configuring, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and installing Cisco (switches and routers) and Palo Alto Networks (PAN)
•
3+ years of experience with advanced maintenance and support of LANs, WANs, VPNs and remote access from a variety of mediums
•
3+ years of advanced network administration of virtualized environments
•
3+ years of experience using Whats Up Gold or equivalent network and systems monitoring software.
•
3+ years of experience supporting VOIP including SIP trunking
•
Experience providing administration of industry standard network equipment such as installation and configuration of Cisco 2960x, 9200, 9300-series switches, Cisco ASR1001 and 2921 routers, Palo Alto Networks firewall hardware, and Aruba Central.
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE
•
Advanced networking administration of Microsoft Azure and connections to a corporate environment preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•
Demonstrated knowledge of network infrastructure standards and best practices.
•
Demonstrated knowledge of information security, compliance, and IT audit requirements.
•
Must have thorough working knowledge of IPv4, OSPF, BGP, STP, NAT, SIP, DNS, SDWAN, IOS, VPN, PAN OS, QOS, VLANs, 802.1x network access control, and multihoming.
•
Ability to maintain and repair network hardware and cabling infrastructure.
•
Understanding of SDWAN components including WAN and SIP circuits.
•
Ability to understand and implement secure enterprise network infrastructures.
•
Knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols and applied cryptography.
•
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft systems including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDP
•
Demonstrated knowledge of managing and administering enterprise firewalls.
•
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, materials, and knowledge bases.
•
Ability to identify and resolve complex issues using innovative research and analysis.
•
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate on cross-functional teams.
•
Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
•
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
•
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with tact and discretion.
•
Ability to manage network devices using terminal/serial connections including accessing CLI.
•
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels:
