  • Responsibilities

    The perfect candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Trust and Estate Administration. The perfect candidate must be well organized and be able to handle deadlines. Initially, this person will work under the Trust and Estate Paralegal for training and assists with daily office administration during the transition period, but will ultimately assume responsibility for the Trust and Administration Department. Our Benefits include: • Health and Dental Insurance • 401K • Profit Sharing Plan • Long and Short Term Disability Insurance • 3 weeks of Paid Time Off • Paid Holidays Responsibilities: • Assist with preparation and filing of inventories and accountings • Real estate deeds, business transfer documents, certificates of trust, pleadings pertaining to estate and trust administration and all other documents related to probate and trust administration matters • Assists clients with trust funding • Works closely with Trust/Estate Attorney, Commissioners of Accounts and their auditors and court clerks as needed; monitors suspense dates; • Until such time as the Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal position becomes full-time, this position will assist with estate planning and office administration. Qualifications: • Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar • Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills • Must have worked as a trust and estate administration paralegal in a law firm for a minimum of 2 years. • Must be familiar with Virginia probate procedures and generally with the Virginia court system • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook; and HotDocs required; familiarity with Tabs 3/Practice Master preferred • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail mandatory • Ability to work independently required; ability to get along with others and communicate effectively is a must; team player Compensation: $45,500
