    Job Title: Program Manager - Greater South Side Reports to: Dean of Learning & Teaching Location: Chicago, IL Organization Overview The People's Music School is a 45-year old institution that has brought the transformative benefits of music to over 10,000 lives across Chicago and now California. Our model is completely tuition-free. We serve students aged 5-18 who otherwise would not be able to afford music education. Since music education has benefits that extend far beyond the artistic benefits, we view ourselves as an institution building future leaders. We build cognitive, academic, and social-emotional skills through an intense and rigorous curriculum.  Our students learn with us for up to 12 hours per week and their families fulfill a significant service requirement. In the last four years, the school has grown 3x to serve 1000+ students each year, maintained quality programs, and benefited from the amazing strength of its community. Our results have recently been showcased in the Chicago Tribune, Billboard Magazine, and more. There's no place like People's!  Job Summary The Program Manager leads our Greater South Side program site housed at Bronzeville Classical Elementary, leading students, faculty, parents and community partners toward the TPMS mission and yearly goals and taking ownership of the success of the program site overall. S/he/they deeply cares about students, families, and the criticality of our musical mission; has a make-it-work mentality; is outspoken, approachable and flexible to the needs of a fast-paced music school. In addition, exceptional organization skills, an appreciation for diversity and ability to embody our culture will set successful candidates apart.  Responsibilities: Achieve program goals related to repertoire, instrumentation, enrollment, curriculum implementation, fundraising, and community engagement Manage faculty at the program and assist program director with hiring, observation, and evaluation Facilitate on-site faculty, parent, and site partner meetings  Conduct disciplinary meetings, as necessary, with individual students and parents  Maintain student databases, including attendance, student outcomes, fundraising, volunteer hours, and instrument inventory/repairs Organize and administer all student activities (i.e. concerts, field trips, and monthly performances)  Create program schedule and calendar in collaboration with program director Collect and analyze student outcomes data (e.g. juries, behavior reports, attendance, grades) to help meet TPMS strategic goals and to support work of the Development team (e.g. informations needed for grants) Execute all accompanying administrative paperwork, including faculty employment paperwork Oversee activities related to smooth operation of the program, including set-up /take-down and other program related activities (e.g.snack time,class transitions, and dismissal) Demonstrate a commitment to TPMS core values: opportunity, excellence, hard work, creativity and community Other duties and responsibilities may be required and/or assigned as necessary. Qualifications: 1-3 years of management/leadership experience in either the non-profit or for-profit sector Excellent verbal communication skills, approachable to students, parents, and faculty. Exemplary time management and organization skills Experience working in a fast-paced, diverse environment while demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness when faced with dynamic priorities and needs Minimum level of education required is a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; major in music education, performance, arts administration or related field. Computer skills required include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google (Drive).  Ability to work 40 hours a week and available during program hours at the Greater South Side site  Belief in our transformative mission is a must - musical background strongly preferred.
