Our client, a full-service insurance agency in Macomb County is hiring an Agency Accountant to assist their rapidly expanding organization. The Agency Accountant will be responsible for the timely premium accounting and/or commissions processing and reconciliations for the entire agency lines of coverage – Commercial, Personal, Employee Benefits and Surety.

This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

The salary range is between range is $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.

The schedule is Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hybrid schedule after training period.

Agency Accountant Responsibilities:

• Handling of agency receivables and tracking.
• Handling agency payables and tracking.
• Perform general ledger activities and balance sheet reconciliation’s.
• Compile and analyze financial reports and operational data.
• Prepare various financial reports and regulatory filings.
• Serve as main point of contact for banking activities.
• Work in hand with agency-hired CPA firm.

Agency Accountant Qualifications:

· Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.

· General knowledge of independent agency insurance transactions.

· 2+ years or recent/related experience.

· Knowledge of AMS360 is a plus.
