    The Policy & Research Group (PRG), based in New Orleans and Seattle, specializes in research and evaluation of public policy and programs. This internship consists of helping to coordinate the implementation of the Teen Health Study, a federally-funded study of a trauma-informed therapy education program designed to reduce teen pregnancy and related risk behaviors in youth 14-19 years of age who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences. PRG is conducting a randomized control trial (RCT) to test the efficacy of this program, which requires the administration of questionnaires to participants at baseline (enrollment), post program, and nine months post program. The intern will be responsible for enrolling participants into the study, and executing data collection, data management, and quality assurance tasks in accordance with study protocols. PRG will provide specific training and supervision for this position. Qualifications: - 0-1 years research experience - B.A./B.S. or masters-level student - Strong interest in conducting high-quality research - Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail - Comfortable talking and working with adolescents - Excellent communication skills and computer skills, including Word and Excel - Commitment to PRG's mission: To improve the potential of people through scientifically rigorous research and evaluation that benefits our clients and influences policy - Reliable and consistent transportation required Duties: - Participate in study protocol training; review and learn study protocol - Screen potential study participants and enroll interested youth in the study - Collect and enter screening and enrollment data - Conduct data verification and quality assurance checks - Assist in training and technical assistance to study sites - Manage technology and other materials necessary for study - Assist with the coordination of and preparation for data collection - Keep in contact with and meet with study participants to collect post-program and 9-month follow-up questionnaire data - Manage and distribute participant incentives - Implement participant tracking system and maintain high participant follow-up rates - Regularly meet/have calls with PRG and study site staff about the project - General administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, organizing, making phone calls, scheduling meetings, preparing documents - Reports to PRG Research Analyst in charge of project Term: January 14 - May 31, 2019 Compensation: $15 per hour Hours: 15-20 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours will be required. Location: This position will be based in and around Baton Rouge and Lafayette, LA. The intern will work from multiple outpatient clinic locations where the study is being implemented within the region. Travel: This position requires local travel. Reliable and consistent transportation is required. Mileage will be reimbursed.
