    Start-Up/Launch Specialist & Liquid Engineer

    Dover, Delaware

    Projected Start Date: July 1st, 2021

    6-9 month Contract

    Logistics:

    • Includes liquid making scope including batch mixing, transfer/distribution, water systems, raw material systems, etc. Approximately $5MM in scope.

    Results:

    • Lotion design complete, defect-free, and within cost estimate
    • Construction completed on-time and under budget
    • Commissioning documentation 100% complete
    • Team Training 100% complete
    • Team Qualification Results (PR, stops, Scrap) at base equipment and defined process centerlines

    Responsibilities:

    • Technical expert on new equipment
    • Strong input to design process including P&IDs, equipment specs & sizing, equipment selection, operability, etc.
    • Manage the construction process, providing design direction, issue resolution, schedule adherence, and turnover
    • Ensure operational standards are complete and up to date for all equipment and processes, including CILs, PMs, troubleshooting guides, etc.
    • Create training packages and update based on any learnings
    • Train and Qualify teams on new equipment and process
    • Identify project issues related to spares, parts, changeovers, etc.
    • Lotion Making Launch Readiness: Validation plan (IQ/OQ/PQ)
    • Fully understand and lead Lotion Validation execution:
    • IQ/OQ (formerly static & dynamic PSI)
    • Dryrun & tach audits
    • Demonstration Runs
    • Reject validation
    • PQ
    • Verification
    • Interpretation of quality sampling results and working through identified outages
    • Interface with the quality lab
    • Update commissioning documents with actual data and ensures books are complete.
    • Maintain startup log with clear loss, cause, action documentation.
    • Initiate Why-Whys or call ins for additional resources when needed to resolve issues
    • Ensure technical issue resolution gets to root cause
    • Provide OJT for teams once in production

    Capabilities:

    • Self-motivated (ability to set own direction and work aggressively towards goals)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proactive in identifying potential problems
    • Intermediate or Advanced troubleshooting skills with liquids processing systems
    • Must be able to read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and specifications
    • Must be able to understand Formula Cards and batch procedures
    • Demonstrated ability to set direction and lead a team
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate others
    • Demonstrated ability to Lead EOs
    • High level of quality mastery
    • Ability to work with multiple organizations (construction, project resources, op teams, other plants)
    • Excellent priority setting and organizational skills (able to adjust to multiple priorities)
    • Understanding of Validation process (IQ/OQ, Dryrun, PQ, Reject Val, Verification runs, etc.)
