    Job Description

    The LAYOUT ARTIST at The Pub Studio is a leader, problem-solver and expert in the design and production of multi-page print documents. Our ideal candidate must love templates, process, design solutions and partnership while managing multiple projects simultaneously. On average this role will have three print circulars, posters and in-store leaflets in multi-phases of design and final production. It’s important that this candidate is able to problem solve and create the best solutions within the supplied toolbox.

    This role is a true team player and must work well within a large team environment. They will have day-to-day interaction with project managers, print/ image producers, production artists, account management, creative leadership and team leadership.

    This is a challenging role within the competitive and ever-changing retail industry with many quick turnaround requests in addition to long term assignments. The candidate must possess the ability to pivot with an understanding of when to pushback and when to compromise. They also must be an advocate and partner to our other agency teams with a passion for maker culture, along with the Publicis Group Power of One delivery model. The key to success in this role both creative excellence and flexibility in both work style and schedule.

    Core responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

    • Day-to-day reporting to your Creative Director.
    • Collaboration with copywriters.
    • Ability to create work that aligns to vision set by your Creative Director and creative leadership.
    • Partner and teammate to your Account, Project Management and Production teams.
    • Hands-on designer with knowledge in multi-page print design and production.
    • Problem-solver who is solution-first oriented.
    • Pushes clients and teammates to creative excellence.
    • Deals well with conflict, stands up for own viewpoints, actions or decisions, even in the face of strong disagreement, to skillfully overcome objections
    • Experience working on large agency clients within a fast-paced, creative first environment
    • Creates a positive team culture
    • Ensures quality production and best practices from assignment to delivery

    Work experience, skills and education:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 5+ years’ experience in advertising or design agency experience required
    • Adobe Creative Suite expert level

    Qualifications/Competencies:

    • Have a strong background in print with knowledge in digital advertising.
    • Print catalog, circular and retail design required with expert level knowledge of print advertising best practices and process.
    • Expert-level typography skills.
    • Strong still production background w/ knowledge of motion and digital
    • Resilience and ability to help team stay motivated through challenging timelines and changes in client direction
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
    • Flexibility, willingness to shift gears to meet project deadlines and client deliverables
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative
