    SUMMARY

    The work completed by the person involves the completion of Certified Investigations as outlined within the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Incident Management bulletin. Assignments are varied in nature. The work setting is varied and may include residential homes, day programs, and/or community settings.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Completes the Certified Investigation process from assignment through Quality Management review in accordance with the ODP Incident Management protocols ensuring the health and safety of the individual(s) is preserved at all times

    Works within an on-call rotation as the Incident Management Point Person; requires availability to respond within one hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during assigned on-call times

    Collects evidence and witness statements based on Certified Investigation guidelines

    Compiles evidence and produces Certified Investigator report using Certified Investigation templates

    Works within the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) system to input incident reports, investigation files, and other supporting documentation

    Works in collaboration with the Operations Management team to analyze individual as well as aggregate incident data

    Provides notification and outreach to team members throughout the incident management process as assigned

    Produces reports in a timely manner when assigned by Operations Management staff

    Supports the Regional and Operations Director by completing all task assigned in a timely manner and with satisfactory workmanship

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The duties of this job require fine motor skills to write/type neat, legible notes, read and understand program documentation, and completing keyboarding entry.

    TRAVEL

    This position requires an extensive amount of travel throughout northeast Pennsylvania.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    A Master’s Degree and one year of experience working directly with persons with Intellectual Disabilities; or a Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience working with persons with Intellectual Disabilities; or an Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours and four years of experience working directly with persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

    Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license with good driving record.

    Computer skills (MS Office Suite software use, ability to learn Pennsylvania programmatic portals – HCSIS, PROMISe, etc…), ability to navigate the usage of the Avatar Electronic Health Record system

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Experience in the IDD field preferred

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Pennsylvania Certified Investigator certificate is required to be obtained within 60 days of hire

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to clearly explain instructions in both written and oral media.

    • Mathematical Skills

    Basic mathematic ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Use of Microsoft Excel to aid in mathematical work.

    • Reasoning Ability

    Ability to read instructional bulletins and/or participate in training sessions then translate information provided into day-to-day work duties.

    Ability to develop and maintain a positive and understanding attitude toward program participants.

    Ability to make sound judgments regarding the health and welfare of program participants.

    Ability to respond to emergency situations appropriately and in a timely manner.

    Ability to express oneself clearly, orally and in writing, and to follow instruction and direction in the performing of job tasks.

    Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, families, and others who are essential for the well-being of program participants.

    Knowledge of health measures such as basic first aid, CPR, fire safety and personal safety measures.

    Ability to analyze situations and formulate an effective course of action.

    Ability to secure the confidence of and develop and maintain an empathetic understanding of clients.

    Ability to organize and prioritize various work assignments.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county and state officials, clients and their families, and the general public.
