    SUMMARY

    The person in this position is responsible for performing work duties essential to the efficient and accurate data entry of non-autistic authorizations and services to third party payers Assignments are varied in nature.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Verify accuracy of services entered into Avatar.

    Accurate, timely recording of service lines.

    Maintain detailed records as required.

    Reconciliation of OMCM reports with Practitioner Service Summary reports from Avatar to ensure all entries are accurate.

    Interact with staff, payors, and agencies to answer questions, obtain information, and resolve issues.

    Coordinate and collect necessary information from staff or payers for proper data entry of non-autistic clientele authorizations.

    Recognize problem accounts and notify appropriate staff or supervisor to assist in problem resolution.

    Participate in the training of new staff members.

    Attend and participate in payor meetings/seminars as needed.

    Maintain open, positive, cordial, team-oriented lines of communication with Authorization/Data Entry Supervisor and other staff members.

    Contribute to the Data Entry and Authorization Department team through positive attitude, respectful interaction, innovative ideas, efficiency, and ethical behavior.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Technical training from an accredited program in medical office procedures which include billing and coding with at least two years of related work experience or any combination of training and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Computer skills with billing software, Microsoft Excel, and key-boarding skills.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial documents. Ability to respond effectively when problems arise. Ability to clearly communicate operations within the department.

    Ability to apply basic mathematical skills. Ability to apply mathematical operations as related to finances.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
