    • WE ARE SEEKING WILSON READING PROGRAM CERTIFIED TUTORS TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

    JOB DESCRIPTION: THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION WITH FLEXIBILITY. A MINIMUM OF 4 HOURS IS REQUIRED. CANDIDATES WITH EXPERIENCE AND/ OR PENDING CERTIFICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED.

    • WORK ONE-ON ONE AS A WILSON READING PROGRAM TUTOR.
    • VIRTUAL TEACHING / TUTORING EXPERIENCE A PLUS.
    • RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION REQUIRED.
    • RELIABLE TECHNOLOGY ACCESS REQUIRED.
    • VIRTUAL INTERVIEWS BEGIN: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2022

    COMPENSATION: Compensation ranges between $15.00 - $30.00 / hr. depending on experience and professional references. QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must maintain confidentiality of all client / student documents.
    • Must enjoy working with children, adolescents and / or adults with learning challenges.
    • Consistently exhibit professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented
    • Must have experience in at least "TWO” of the desired areas for employment: (I.E. PRIMARY, INTERMEDIATE, HIGH SCHOOL, EARLY LITERACY SKILLS, READING , FLUENCY, VOCABULARY, LANGUAGE ARTS, WRITING SKILLS, MATH, SOCIAL -EMOTIONAL LEARNING, AND LEARNING DISABILITIES).
    • Previous tutoring and / or mentoring experience is a plus!
    • Reading Specialist Certification is a plus! Not required!
    • Certification and / or experience with The Wilson Reading System and other Orton-Gillingham methods is a plus!
    • Special Education Certification is a plus! Not required!
    • ESOL Certification is a plus! Not required!
    • Experience in Social - Emotional Learning is a plus!
    • *IMPORTANT: Access to a reliable computer system for remote engagement.

    VIRTUAL / FACE -TO-FACE SESSIONS:

Grant sponsored by The Philadelphia Foundation and a donation from Parx Casino in the midst of the unprecedented COVID-19 global pandemic to continue educational services for youth with learning differences. The Reading Clinic, Inc. has received the Wells Fargo Community Connections Award for several years. The Reading Clinic, Inc. provides comprehensive, diagnostic education evaluations, and intervention services for children and adults exhibiting executive functioning, reading, and language-based learning deficits associated with ADHD, age-appropriate reading fluency, reading comprehension, spelling, writing, and specifically Dyslexia. Dyslexia is the most common learning disability affecting 1 in 5. Educational services also support children and adults with Autism and cognitive processing challenges. The essential goal of The Reading Clinic, Inc. is to assist families and schools with early identification, intervention, and advocacy to maximize a child’s ability to achieve his or her full potential and preserve self-esteem. Its mission is to help children, adolescents, and adults overcome the barriers they face due to reading and language difficulties. Customized services include multi-sensory educational therapy for Dyslexia, advocacy for special education services, college learning disability support, accommodations for student athlete eligibility, and employment accommodations.
