Editor/Content Creator
There is nothing “boring” about the office culture at Prehistoric Inc. We’re a team passionate not just about animals, but just as importantly the people who love them as much as we do. Our office is full of energy and reptiles and no two days are quite the same.
After 35 years as a leader in the reptile industry Prehistoric Inc continues to evolve and as we grow we will be needing a reliable Editor/Content Manager to handle the production and organization of content with a focus on efficiency and time management. Smooth processes and systems will be the key to success in this time of growth.
We’re in need of an Editor local to Orange County with excellent organization skills and a personable disposition to keep them thriving. We’re looking for someone who is energetic, who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats. The ideal candidate has a natural ability to roll with the punches, being flexible and creative enough to handle anything that might come their way. Enjoying Reptiles is a plus as well, but not needed for the position!You’ll be a strong and reliable support to social media operations and maintaining/creating the production of content on a variety of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tik Tok and Snapchat.
** Daily operational responsibilities will mostly encompass the following:**
Editing: Improving the overall clarity, coherence, and flow of video content being developed. Understanding our brand and finding creative ways to storyteller through editing. Needs knowledge of Adobe Premium Pro
Coordinate with videographer: Communicating with media management to discuss revisions, provide feedback, and ensure the final product meets quality standards and overall feel that is needed for each platform.
Publication management: Working alongside the publishing process, including managing timelines, coordinating and preparing content for online posting schedule.
Content strategy: Contributing to the development and implementation of content strategies that align with our goals and target audience. Understanding how each platform functions and its algorithm.
Content optimization: Identifying opportunities to improve content for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and audience engagement.
Visual Literacy: Understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to work with images, graphics, and video content, ensuring they align with our brand's identity and resonate with a wide variety of a audiences.
