Job Title: Part-time Flag Football Referee

Job Description: We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to join our team as part-time Flag Football Referees. As a referee, you will be responsible for officiating flag football games for boys and girls ages 5-12 years old. This is a part-time position, and referees will work closely with the league coordinator and other staff members to ensure fair play and a positive experience for all participants.

Responsibilities:

• Officiate flag football games, ensuring that all players adhere to the rules and regulations of the league.
• Make accurate and timely calls on penalties, fouls, and scoring plays.
• Communicate with coaches, players, and spectators in a professional and respectful manner.
• Enforce sportsmanship and fair play among participants, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
• Attend pre-game meetings and training sessions to review rules and game procedures.
• Maintain control of the game, diffusing any potential conflicts or disputes that may arise.
• Provide feedback and guidance to players and coaches when necessary.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring the game and enforcing safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a flag football referee is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
• Knowledge of flag football rules and regulations is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the game of football and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with coaches, players, and spectators.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the flag football season.
• Must pass a background check and obtain any necessary certifications required for officiating youth sports.
