Job Description
THE CUSTODY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST will be responsible for developing expertise in core Custody Operations activities (pricing, corporate actions, income processing, asset-setup/ maintenance, trade processing and corrections) with the highest level of customer focus, accuracy, speed, and service touch. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment, and a passion for serving financial advisors with a high level of excellence. In this role, the Custody Operations Specialist will need to balance multiple tasks in order to meet tight deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure immediate action, research, and troubleshoot all reconciliation outages resulting from transfers, trading, income, and corporate actions
· Perform audits and controls for the data and valuation integrity of all security information
· Work effectively as a team member as well as independently
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· The ability to quickly master multiple business systems and applications
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
· Ability to complete daily work/tasks in a timely and efficient manner
· Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
· Computer literacy with a strong knowledge of MS Office products, with a focus on Excel
· Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment and can effectively prioritize, manage, and identify risk
· Ability to effectively identify root causes, determine appropriate resolution path, and apply appropriate improvements to prevent problem from recurring
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 1-3 Years Financial Services/Custodial Operations Experience
· Ability to distinguish between different asset classes, security types, and transaction types
· Ability to understand and demonstrate knowledge of tax lot accounting and general ledger accounting
