    Job Description

    THE SIEGEL LAW FIRM, P.C. is a Real Estate, Litigation, Corporate, Landlord-Tenant, and Employment Law firm in Garden City, NY. We are currently seeking a PARALEGAL / LEGAL ASSISTANT with good written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, is computer literate, and has a strong enthusiasm to experience personal growth. Some experience (or exposure) is preferred.

    The position will require an ability to conduct a variety of tasks to support the daily functions of a boutique law firm. Such tasks include client interactions, drafting and preparing legal documents, marketing efforts, maintaining and organizing files, and other administrative office duties.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Client Intake- Interact with prospective clients and existing clients on a daily basis, discuss facts, establish potential for business with firm;
    • Management and upkeep of legal marketing services that recruit potential clientele
    • Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systems;
    • Update law firm calendar
    • Various telephone tasks
    • Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation;
    • Utilization of case management software;
    • Write reports to help lawyers prepare for trials;
    • Draft correspondence and legal documents, such as contracts, petitions, and summons and complaints;
    • Obtain affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court;
    • File exhibits, petitions, summons and complaints, interrogatories, discovery and inspection and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel;
    • Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions;
    • Supervise accounts receivables and collection of client invoices.

    JOB ​QUALIFICATIONS:

    • LITIGATION EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED
    • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
    • Familiarity with legal research
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Deadline and detail-oriented
    • Very computer savvy
    • Experience with Zola software is a plus
