    Program Coordinator The Simon Family Foundation - Garden Grove, CA $47,500 - $50,000 a year - Full-time, Other The Simon Family Foundation provides a monetary scholarship and fosters college readiness and success primarily for high-achieving, first-generation and low-income students who have overcome adversity. The purpose of the Program Coordinator is to work closely with the Simon Family Foundation Team to offer support and opportunities to Simon Scholar high school and college students for life-changing personal growth. This includes, planning and facilitating weekly college preparation courses, group college tours, leadership conferences and retreats with emphasis in Orange County. Job Responsibilities * Develop, implement, coordinate, and direct Simon Scholar activities and student-related leadership programs on a small and large scale * Work directly with students and program staff in providing information and coordinating project activities * Advise, track, and monitor a caseload of high school and college Simon Scholars regarding: academic progress, college application process, career development, and develop an academic plan * Weekly curriculum instruction at Simon Scholar Certified high schools * Maintain detailed student records and process college funding * Act as a liaison, providing written and verbal communication to high school and college Simon Scholars to keep them informed of program activities and requirements * Create presentations and present to large audiences in the community * Occasional after office hours case management (phone calls, texts, emails, crisis intervention, etc.) * Work closely with local school districts, principals, school counselors and community members Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred * Two years of experience which demonstrates knowledge of college access and student services programs or in the coordination of leadership activities * Experience working with students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds * Ability to develop long term rapport with students, school counselors and families * Effective written and verbal communication * Ability to track and report on program measures and outcomes * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills * Strong work ethic and initiative * Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize tasks * High level of integrity and personal conduct * Flexible hours/evenings/weekends as needed for Foundation and Scholar events * Reliable transportation to San Clemente office as well as partner high schools throughout Orange County and occasionally San Diego County * Must be physically able to participate with Scholars in activities such as ropes course, guided walking tours, and lift up to 50 pounds * Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM database (Salesforce experience desired) * Bilingual a plus (Vietnamese preferred) Compensation/Benefits
