WHO WE ARE:

Soccer FC is a 501c3 whose mission​ is to provide access, excellence, and education through the game of soccer to children in underserved communities in Charlotte. We run weekly soccer sessions at Title I elementary schools in town and use that as an opportunity to positively impact the children we serve through the game of soccer. In addition to putting a mentor in a child’s life, giving them the opportunity to be on a team, and learn how to have a growth mindset, we leverage our influence in their life to become active readers and help improve their literacy skills.

WHAT YOU GET AS A GRADUATE ASSISTANT:

Up to $5,250 annual, tax-free tuition reimbursement for Master’s Degree at an approved institution

$1,200 monthly stipend

Flexible scheduling including mornings and afternoon hours

Professional experience and leadership development at a 501c3 organization that is quickly expanding

WHAT YOU NEED:

Alignment with Soccer FC mission

Passion for soccer and positively impacting children and families

Previous experience as a coach, teacher, instructor or educator, or academic experience in a related field

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

Eligible to work in the U.S.

Must qualify for entry into graduate degree program at an approved institution

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Safely manage classes of up to 12 elementary school children

Implement Soccer FC curriculum which focuses on skill and literacy development

Arrive on time to scheduled locations, provide a positive experience for children, families, and school staff.

Help Charlotte FC staff in areas of business management including marketing, fundraising, and operations

Engage with board and gain experience in your areas of interest
