Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent number of college credits; plus five years experience with operation of computer systems; must demonstrate working knowledge of basic mathematics; must demonstrate working knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation; excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent problem solving skills; excellent organizational skills; must demonstrate ability to use and effectively manage the operational activities of the Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012 Servers and Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 Operating Systems software utilized by The Council; must demonstrate working knowledge of the computer software utilized by The Council that includes Application Solution of Choice, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Great Plains, SQL Server 2008, 2010 and 2012 versions. Must be able to type with speed and accuracy (at least 50 w.p.m.); ability to coordinate the information and data requirements. Must have valid driver’s license and minimal auto insurance.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Good short-term memory, good hearing and visual acuity sufficient to accomplish job responsibilities. Good multi-tasking skills. Ability to work with computer for several hours at a time. Good hand dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment. Ability to perform light physical work, exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force on an occasional basis. Sitting, standing, walking short distance are activities that the Director of I.T. Services must perform.
DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer or designee, the Director of I.T. Services collects and reports patient information and data needs; and manages and maintains network infrastructure, servers, workstations, software applications, and website. Maintains telephone hardware and software. Work involves technical support functions that are coordinative in nature, advising or developing work methods and procedures necessary to complete assigned tasks. Responsible for all aspects of The Council’s use of information technology; provides direction in using technology to improve organizational performance and service. Recommends and implements IT purchases and upgrades.
