Digital Media Strategist
The Digital Media Strategist requires a blend of analytical and intuitive skills, marketing and consumer research experience, thoughtfulness and effective communication skills. The Digital Media Strategist participates in the development and management of effective media plans, and is ultimately responsible for implementation, stewardship and reporting against client goals.
Main responsibilities:
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the client’s business and the consumer journey
• Responsible for fulfilling the media strategy/plan and achieving plan goals (media mix, delivery goals, flighting, daypart, etc.)
• Determine the optimal strategic approach across channel and within channel (Digital, Print, Video, Audio, Specialty)
• Support in the development and writing of client facing media plan recommendations including plan presentations with accompanying flowchart and budgets
• Provide research and analysis, developing insights that inform integrated channel strategies
• Create, own and maintain flowcharts, buying guidelines, budget summaries and plan deliveries
• Master the use of general and media industry tools and systems
• Ensure quality control by reviewing/confirming accuracy of all forms for purposes of authorizing or activating media plan recommendation
• Stay apprised of industry standards, new media programs/opportunities and can advise on new ways to reach targets
The ideal candidate:
• Possesses 3 – 5 years of relevant, professional experience
• Combines channel and platform expertise with a strong strategic mindset
• Can easily toggle between strategy, operations, and execution
• Able to easily collaborate and adapt when working with the unfamiliar
• Has experience working with a variety of data sets – survey-based data, website analytics, media analytics, 3rd-party partner data, social data, etc.
• Knows how to convert analysis into real world actionable solutions
• Loves keeping up with the latest media trends, new asset releases, and media innovation
• Comfortable working closely with team members in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Highly developed organizational skills with a strong attention to details
• In-depth knowledge of digital media channels, targeting capabilities, media metrics, etc.
• Usage and application of digital media tools/platforms • Working knowledge and practical application of media research tools (i.e. Simmons, Kantar, Mintel, etc.)
