    Title:  Sr. Media Planner

    Job Description:                                                                       

    Responsible for overall development of Media objectives and strategies and creation of media plans to meet client’s marketing objectives. Involved in Media plan implementation and performance analysis while maintaining a strong relationship with the client and media community.

    Act as the field communication liaison with our other agency locations with regard to National & Spot Media. Manager of digital strategy for the client and act as liaison between agency and Client. Responsible for staffing and leading the Media Department; directing the work of others, ensuring department budget and media advertising goals are met.

    Specific Duties:

    Development of overall Media Strategy

    Link between the field organization and the agency Media Teams

    Manage Digital process and strategy for region and serving as a key innovator with regards to emerging media opportunities

    Spearhead development of new media campaigns and success metric platforms

    Oversee the program’s results analysis

    Help translate information into lessons learned

    Provide actionable optimization recommendations

    Drive action against results

    Manage and systematize agency relations/operations with Media Buying Agencies

    Manage integration of Media software

    Streamline and define/review Media planning processes

    Implementation of Media reporting processes

    Job Requirements:

    Client Service

    • Will be required to maintain positive relationships with his/her Clients, as well as the appropriate factory personnel; further, be required to maintain working relationships with various media and marketing vendors of his/her Clients.
    • Must understand all factors that influence the Client’s business and demonstrate an on-going commitment and response to Client needs.
    • Take initiative in developing preliminary written points-of-view regarding Media opportunities, specifically digital

    Supervision

    • Develop a positive relationship with each of his/her subordinates, as well as provide proper and adequate training and supervision for each.
    • Foster a positive, productive, and efficient working environment for his/her subordinates.
    • Build and maintain solid relations and work effectively with personnel in other Agency departments to achieve optimal results (Account, Buying Agencies, and Finance).

    Experience & Training:

    • Significant advertising agency experience is a must (5+ years), as the job requires a thorough competence in advertising principles and agency functions (Media, traffic, financials, billing, etc.).
    • Experience with digital, broadcast television, cable television, radio, newspaper and a general understanding of integrated communications (Direct Marketing, Lifestyle Marketing, Collateral, and Merchandising)
    • Experience and a passion for tablets, smartphones, social networks, instant messaging, widgets, apps, blogs and whatever is new and life-changing, and want to find ways to make them work for brands.
    • Prior experience in retail advertising is preferred
    • Experience in purchasing and/or managing digital buys is a definite plus

    • Excellent oral/written communication skills are essential
    • Exceptional meeting preparation and Client-presentation skills are a must
    • Adept ability to provide timely status reporting to Management Director is a must

    Exceptional organizational and time-management skills:

    • A keen ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to maintain productivity while working at an expedient pace
    • Innate ability to organize logistics of subordinates’ tasks and keep things on-track and on-time is essential

    Supervision:

    • Ability to listen well and appropriately train subordinates is mandatory
    • Must have good ability to properly oversee delegated tasks

    Attitude:

    • Must be a self-starter: quick learner, intuitive, and proactive
    • Must assume a high level of enthusiasm and an interest in furthering a career in Media
    • Must have an outgoing and positive personality with a “nothing’s impossible” approach to daily tasks
    • Must be a “team player” embracing the culture of the office

    Computer Aptitude:

    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and KeyNote is a must
    • Thorough knowledge of media resources and their application to Media planning (i.e.; Donovan, MediaOcean, MBox,NSI, MRI, ARB, Scarborough, IMS, etc.)
    • Mastery of Workhorse software is a plus
