    Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled School Cook to join our team at THE STANLEY SCHOOL. As our School Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that nutritious and delicious meals are prepared for students, staff, and faculty, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success.

    Responsibilities:

    Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches, and snacks according to predetermined menus, ensuring that meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions.

    Menu Planning: Assist in planning weekly menus that offer a variety of nutritious options and accommodate dietary preferences and allergies.

    Food Safety: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation protocols at all times, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items.

    Inventory Management: Monitor food inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and maintain accurate records of inventory and expenses.

    Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen, including assigning tasks to kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

    Collaboration: Coordinate with school administrators, nutritionists, and other staff members to ensure that meal programs align with educational objectives and student needs.

    Customer Service: Interact with students, staff, and faculty in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns or special requests regarding meals.

    Training and Development: Stay updated on culinary trends, nutritional guidelines, and food service best practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary certification or training preferred.

    Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, school cafeteria, or similar food service setting.

    Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, including ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

    Strong culinary skills and familiarity with cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and recipe scaling.

    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.

    Flexibility to adapt to changing menus, dietary requirements, and scheduling demands.
