JOB SUMMARY:
The Reverification Specialist performs a variety of mortgage loan processing activities relating to post-close quality control audits. Responsible for completing re-verifications of mortgage documents provided in the loan file. Follows agency requirements: i.e. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, FHA and private investors.
Training for this position is onsite.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare, print and mail request letters to re-verify loan applications, gift letters, verifications of employment and verifications of deposits
- Prep and upload loan file documents for indexing into the company’s content management system
- Obtain verbal verification of assets, income and employment on borrowers by contacting the corresponding entities
- Validate and document information received from re-verification requests
- Enter loan data into the Loan Evaluation Software program
- Generate and send second request letters as applicable
- Create and maintain QC Folders and deliver to clients
- Secure, file and upload any trailing documents
- Assist in incoming/outgoing mail processes as needed
- Conduct all activities in a professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service
- Adhere to the companies “Core Values”
- Other duties assigned by manager
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of experience in the mortgage banking industry is preferred
- Must be familiar with mortgage loan documents
- A working knowledge of Loan Prospector and Desktop Underwriter programs is preferred
- Experience in document indexing or working with Document Management Systems
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments with speed, accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work under time constraints
- Ability to follow procedures and have excellent organizing and prioritizing skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a production environment
- Must be computer savvy have an established understanding of computer navigation
- College degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required
