The Talent Source has partnered with a much-loved consumer brand on the search to hire a Director Data Architecture to drive innovation through advanced data architecture and analytics practices, the alignment of the enterprise data strategy to business priorities, and promotion of an enterprise wide data-driven culture.

This key, high visibility role will build and lead the Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data Integration teams, focused on analytics governance, data management, and data integration and set the standard for analytics, data architecture and data governance across the enterprise working in close partnership business leaders.

Location: This position can be remote, however, it is preferred candidates are in close proximity to either Minneapolis, Dalls, TX or Austin, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design data architectures for products and services across the enterprise.· Define and implement a modern data integration layer to enable agile implementation of digital solutions.
• Define and enforce data architecture and data analytics best practices.·
• Work with engineering teams to deliver first class data solutions using existing and emerging technologies; such as cloud based data solutions.·
• Establish data management strategies and reusable patterns for sharing of data assets for optimal use across the enterprise.·
• Architect and build data pipelines to gather and organize data from a variety of internal and external sources.·
• Develop high volume and high velocity data ingestion and processing solutions.·
• Interact closely with product owners, software engineers and data scientists to understand data, information, analytics and business intelligence requirements.· Build out advanced analytics, business intelligence (BI), and reporting efforts to facilitate data-driven business decision making outcomes.
• Provide effective enterprise architecture governance.·
• Identify analytics opportunities for the business and ensure data/information compliance with business policy, legal and compliance.·
• Work closely with the Information Security to make enterprise data accessible with appropriate access controls.
• Lead data management and architecture strategy implementation projects, partnering closely with key business and technology stakeholders.·
• Manage and oversee the delivery of projects necessary to achieve the strategy with an eye towards business process redesign.·
• Define Business involvement at the start of each initiative with a specific focus on roles/responsibilities·
• Lead multiple project teams for the delivery of applications on time, within constraints of budget, timeline and to the customer’s satisfaction·
• Manage the capital and expense planning for development
  Initiate, define, and implement changes to standards, procedures and quality programs
  Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security and Compliance teams to ensure data protection controls are in place.
• Provide leadership, coaching, direction, evaluation and assistance to team members to build a well-rounded team
• Assist direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that the crucial business initiatives are delivered.

Expertise Guidelines:

• 10+ years’ experience in data architecture and data analytics with demonstrated leadership in process improvement and optimization
• 5+ years’ experience leading and motivating technical teams
• Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of senior management and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to derive insights from data, communicate those insights to a diverse audience, and make recommendations for improvements
• Deep understanding of several types of databases, stream processing and time-series processing and analytics.
• Hands-on experience architecting and implementing large scale multi discipline master/reference data management, data lake and analytics solutions
• Experience developing business intelligence solutions, reporting and dashboards
• Experience creating and reviewing technical and user-focused documentation for data solutions (data models, data dictionaries, business glossaries, process and data flows, architecture diagrams, etc.)
• Experience architecting and developing a business data architecture at scale.
• Experience various data modeling approaches
• Experience with performance optimization
• Proven ability to promote data governance and master data management as a strategic discipline
• Maintain compliance with the regulatory frameworks around data privacy, and accessibility
• Experience with PCI compliant systems and merchant processing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to established timeframes using Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to translate business directions and strategies into technology architectures; strong process development and re-design skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to set the tone for a collaborative, high-functioning, high-trust team
• Build collaborative relationships across the enterprise
