The Talent Source has partnered with an innovative PE backed company in the search for a Vice President of Program Management Office to support a period of transformative growth.

Reporting to the Chief Technology and Digital Officer, the VP of PMO will be a leadership role that serves as a strategic partner across the enterprise to drive the successful execution of technology projects spanning custom development initiatives, SaaS implementations, ERP modernizations, enhancements to digital platforms, to complex integration efforts. This leader will also mentor a team of program and project leaders to improve delivery across the portfolio, and collaborate onsite at the Corporate Headquarters in New Hampshire.

Scope of the role:

PMO Strategy Development

• Engaging senior leadership and business partners to define the PMO mission, goals, and operating model
• Ensuring alignment to the cross-departmental roadmaps, create a collective plan to manage dependencies
• Engage senior leadership and business partners in the refresh of the annual Technology Roadmap as well as the 3-year plan

Process Management and Governance

• Providing accountability for Project Management performance, to include schedule, budget and scope. Ensure consistency in operating methodology and processes, and governance of the PMO team.
• Developing and leading the PMO team, putting in place the systems, processes, and ways of working to sustain a high performing team, where skill development, increased agility, collaboration, and improved ways of working are key to success

PMO Team Leadership

• Establishing and monitoring staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments for team.
• Planning, coordinating, and executing the annual budget process for all PMO activities. Prepare and submit an annual operational budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
  

Experience Guidelines:

• Minimum of 15 years professional enterprise experience, 5 years in agile project delivery, customer software development or product leadership role
• Prior portfolio and project management, leadership, and continuous improvement experience in business process and technology required

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
• Practical Certifications in Agile, Lean Six Sigma, and/or Project Management are a plus

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong strategic, financial, business, IT and analytical acumen
• Proven program management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of productivity and portfolio management tools with evidence of practical application
• Exceptional leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop and communicate the strategic vision and inspire and motivate the team to manage change and foster continuous improvement
• Ability to multitask, manage deadlines and priorities, and deliver under pressure and to tight time scales
• Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources are often not in direct control of this role
• Ability to build and maintain relationships and support from key stakeholders in the enterprise
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic resource plan
• Strong communication skills and the ability to use emotional intelligence while interacting with and influencing others
• Ability to listen to and support people in problem identification and decision-making, creating an environment of mutual influence
• Communicate ideas or positions in a persuasive manner that builds support, agreement, or commitment
• Communicate the value of iterative development to broad range of stakeholders
• Ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the PMO team.
