    ENTRY LEVEL ACCOUNTANT AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    We are a growing entrepreneurial tax and consulting firm based in Milwaukie Oregon. We are currently seeking to add a FLEX-TIME ENTRY LEVEL ACCOUNTANT WITH ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES. We operate as a team and understand that each member of that team is an integral part of the organization. We are looking for someone who is interested in a career in the finance, taxation and accounting field.

    This position would work under and provide support to the Staff Accountant. If you have an inherent ability to work efficiently, possess a strong work ethic, are organized, good with details, self-motivated, dependable & reliable then you could be the right person for this position.

    This job starts as a trainee assignment and can progress to a higher-skilled, longer-term position that leads to a rewarding career.

    We are looking for a dynamic, get-it-done person with strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, able to work with an assortment of personalities and who has good organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.     DUTIES

    This role will be involved in CLIENT SERVICES ADMINISTRATION:

    • Report, review, and assembly of client files.
    • Scheduling clients and workflow management.
    • General systems management and administration.
    • Covert paper files to digital.

    This role will be involved with BASIC ACCOUNTING PROCESSES:

    • Prepare and post journal entries.
    • Code incoming bank transactions.
    • Maintain organized and clean chart of accounts.
    • Reconciliation of accounts.
    • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND CAPABILITIES:

    • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, the IRS and Oregon Department of Revenue via phone, email, fax, and occasionally in person.
    • Ensure all information is being tracked, organized, and kept current relative to the Documentation Management System.
    • Print and assemble tax filing and client reports in proper order with appropriate attachments.
    • Scan paper documents, file both paper & digital docs, organize and maintain filing system.
    • Manage client contact system, send bulk emails to client list, answer individual client calls & email.

    YOU MUST

    • Have an interest in accounting or taxes.
    • Be skilled in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS office Suite.
    • Have sophisticated computer abilities.
    • Easily adapt to new technologies and software.
    • Familiarity working with accounting and tax preparation software.
    • Strong critical and mathematical reasoning skills
