    Located at the South end of Seaside's historic promenade, The Tides by the Sea is the closest lodging property to the beach and offers gorgeous views of Seaside Cove and surfer's paradise. We are currently seeking a hotel maintenance engineer to perform general maintenance work and ensure all of the hotel's quality standards are met.

    The hotel maintenance engineer's responsibilities include ensuring the Tides by the Sea property is in safe, working order. Hotel maintenance engineers will complete assigned work orders to repair or replace items in homes and properties. If a licensed professional is required, this position will advise the management team of specific needs.

    The Responsibilities of the Position:

    Complete assigned daily work orders

    Accurately complete required documentation and submitting documentation at the end of shift

    Work independently on assigned work orders or assignments

    Spot safety risks and address issues quickly

    Understand basic operation of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, and boiler systems

    Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment

    Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed

    Advise management of repairs needing a licensed vendor

    Assist guests with troubleshooting of home issues including technology in homes

    Observe established policies and procedures

    Act as a runner as needed

    Work after hours as assigned in rotation schedule

    Other duties as assigned

    All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (Specific standards outlined at orientation)

    Perform any related duties as requested by the supervisor/manager

    The Skills and Experience Needed:

    A combination of 1-2 years of customer service and/or hospitality experience

    Basic understanding of general home/property maintenance

    Minimum high school education

    Must possess a Construction Contractors Board License for the state of Oregon

    Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License and a clean driving record

    Must have a pleasing, hospitable demeanor to engage with guests

    Highly experienced working with computers, cell phones, text and email

    Have a cell phone that can access the web and download apps

    Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing

    Ability to learn and use new software and tools

    The Physical Demands of the Position:

    Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach and retrieve items from overhead

    Stand on a regular basis throughout the shift

    Work after hours as assigned in rotation schedule
