Measurement Systems Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Measurement Systems Specialist to join our Engineering Services team.
JOB LOCATION : Our headquarters in Austin, Texas, USA.
SALARY : Negotiable-$75k - $100k: Based on your skills and experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test and measurement, interfacing PCs to measurement sensors and hardware, measurement system troubleshooting, analog signal conditioning, and digital signal processing. Proficiency in LabVIEW and an attention to detail are required. Application experience in pavement surface characteristics, noise and vibration, vehicle NVH, vehicle dynamics and handling, and/or digital surface scanning is beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, support, and maintain measurement systems and devices for pavement surface characteristics including texture, friction, grip, surface irregularity, elevation profile, and sound absorption.
- Analyze large sets of data using statistical and mathematical methods to identify trends and patterns.
- Develop and implement data processing algorithms according to customer requirements.
- Write efficient code to automate data acquisition from multiple sensors and related data synchronizing and processing tasks.
- Conduct experiments and collect data to support field testing efforts.
- Analyze test data and provide insights and contributions to research and reports.
- Support Transtec's Quality Management System that includes writing/reviewing data collection protocols and verification processes; develop software utilities for automated verification process; plan and schedule calibration; and conduct equipment verifications.
- Project management to include preparing quotes, plan and schedule field testing, conduct field testing, process and analyze data, review draft reports, prepare final reports.
- Provide technical support to field team when they are onsite performing measurements.
Requirements :
- Good at measurement system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and recognizing invalid signals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in LabVIEW. Proficiency with other programming languages such as VB6, VBA, Python, MATLAB, or C++ is beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with automating data collection and data analysis systems.
- Experience in pavement surface characteristics, noise and vibration engineering, vehicle NVH, vehicle dynamics and handling, test and measurement, and automating data acquisition is desired.
