    Position Summary:

    The Head Golf Professional is an experienced and enthusiastic individual who will lead the golf operations at Big Cedar’s world-class Ozarks National Golf Course. The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf operations, leading the team, and working with other departments to provide exceptional services and experiences.

     

    Specific Responsibilities Include:

    • Train, direct, oversee, coach, counsel, and assist the Assistant Golf Professional, Starters/Marshals, and other golf services team members in all aspects of golf services and ensure the team delivers exceptional services and experiences.
    • Promote and ensure a working relationship that includes communication, support, and assistance with outside services, other course golf professionals, and grounds maintenance.
    • Manage and oversee the course tee sheet system and schedule, including the check-in experience and pace of play.
    • Act as the authority in providing Rules of Golf education and insight.
    • Managed and assisted the team with merchandise sales and the pro shop's inventory, working closely with the merchandise director to provide the desired products.
    • Assist in preparing the golf services budget, including forecasting and reviewing all golf operations revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Ensure systems and controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resources and that all financial goals and objectives are being achieved.
    • Plan, manage, oversee, and assist in any tournament play. Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament set-up. Coordinate food and beverage plans with Food and Beverage for food and beverage needs for all golf functions.
    • Provide golf instruction, as necessary, keeping abreast of the latest teaching technology and programs.


      Qualifications (Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge):

    • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in PGA Golf Management or equivalent experience.
    • Ideally, active membership in the PGA of America or equivalent is a Class A membership.
    • Familiar with industry golf operations standards, concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and point-of-service software.
    • Experience and familiarity in pro shop merchandise and sales.
    • Self-motivated with a passion for hospitality.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Valid driver’s license.
