    Job Summary:

    The primary function of the Store Associate is to provide timely and accurate processing of customer transactions at The Truck Patch, while maintaining effective and efficient accounting of cash and credit receipts. The Store Associate also aids the Store Manager and Department Managers, as required, for proper functioning of their positions.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None
    • Represent The Truck Patch in a very professional and positive manner.
    • Greet and assist customers; answer questions and provide information to the public.
    • Collect and process customer transactions (credit, cash, check, etc.); assist in sorting and balancing receipts and payments.
    • Prepare and record information for the computer system including closing receipts and balances, account payments, and cash receipts and balances.
    • Prepare and balance cash register receipts daily; prepare cash for next business shift/day.
    • Accurately verify merchandise quantities, descriptions, and costs.
    • Complete designated tasks provided by department managers in a timely and thorough manner when working within the departments
    • Provide clerical support to assist designated staff in the completion of their duties and responsibilities.
    • Stock and display merchandise.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, preferred.
    • Organized, with attention to detail.
    • Excellent customer service abilities.
    • Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
    • Previous Front End or Customer Service experience, preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers.
    • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
    • Ability to sell proactively.
    • Ability to learn about natural and organic foods and products.
    • Effective time management skills.
    • Strong work ethic and integrity.
    • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
    • Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
    • Ability to use box cutters.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
    • Previous grocery and/or retail experience, preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
    • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 40 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
    • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
    • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.).
