POSITION SUMMARY
The Item Development Editor - ELA will be responsible for OVERSEEING THE TIMELY DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-QUALITY ELA CONTENT FOR OUR WORKBOOKS AND CURRICULA.
The Editor will be responsible for managing the development of content from initiation to implementation, including all related staff.
The ideal candidate has unbridled intellectual horsepower and creativity, is experienced in managing teams and projects, and is hungry to learn and to grow with the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the Editor's primary responsibilities are listed below:
- Outline and actively manage the scope, timeline, budget, and staffing needs for multiple projects from inception to publication.
- Collaborate with, review the work of, and give feedback to writers.
- Draft, edit (content, copy, and layout), and finalize accurate, error-free, and high-quality manuscripts.
- Organize and manage content attribution for digital distribution.
- Devise, execute, and refine processes and policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- at least a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, preferably in education or related field;
- 2+ years of editorial or related content/item development experience;
- expert-level proficiency in MS Office
- subject-matter familiarity in K-12 ELA, including knowledge of grade-level standards;
- proven verbal and written communication skills, including a thorough command of the English language;
- demonstrable project management skills and commitment to quality and timeliness;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bonus points for someone who has:
- previous experience teaching in a classroom setting;
- previous experience working with middle- and high school-level standardized tests;
- MS Word or Office certification

- The total compensation for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Total compensation includes a base salary (STARTING AT $60,000) as well as PERFORMANCE-BASED BONUSES, which are aligned to key performance metrics.
