    Job Description

    UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CONGREGATION OF PHOENIX Communications and Technology Coordinator POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Communications and Technology Coordinator POSITION TYPE: Part-time, 12 months/year EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-exempt; 15-hours per week START DATE: October or November, 2020 COMPENSATION: $30/hour (full year compensation of $23,400; Nov 1-June 30 is $11,250) POSITION PURPOSE: The Communications and Technology Coordinator provides day-to-day coordination of the congregation and ministry internal and external communications and technology resources. The Communications and Technology Coordinator reports directly to the Business Administrator and supports the various staff and volunteers with communication and technology needs. REPORTS TO: Business Administrator HOURS, COMPENSATION, BENEFITS: □ This position is 15-hours per week □ This position is part-time for 12 months. □ This position is non-exempt □ The position does not qualify for benefits □ Compensation is determined on a yearly basis according to congregational personnel policies □ In support of the Americans with Disabilities Act, this job description lists only those responsibilities and qualifications deemed essential to the position. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (all to be accomplished directly or through supervision): Overall: ● Help promote and create structures for overall accessibility and radical inclusion through communications and technology. ● Help develop and ensure consistency of UUCP brand standards on all platforms, e.g., PowerPoint, Zoom, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, the Congregation’s website, and Constant Contact. Communications Responsibilities: ● Update and maintain content and graphic integrity of website ● Create the Congregation’s twice weekly newsletter ● Push out official Congregational emails as needed ● Create and curate UUCP’s social media presence, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter ● Create and update Sunday worship slides ● Monitor Constant Contact usage metrics Technology/Social Media Moderator Responsibilities: ● Coordinate scheduling of Zoom congregational meetings and all aspects of Sunday webinars (worship, coffee hours, and special meetings) ● Lead and train volunteer tech team tasked with: ○ Operating Zoom for Sunday services and coffee hour ○ Moderating chat during online worship service ○ Responding to disruptive “zoombombing” behavior ○ Creating and coordinating content for worship (videos, graphics, editing existing content, etc.) ○ Serving as a resource for small groups and guest speakers who need tech assistance ● Implement closed captioning for online and in-person worship and activities. ● Guide the transition from 100% online worship to hybrid live/online worship, when appropriate. ● Keep abreast of and inform relevant staff and congregation members about technological updates to improve the Congregation’s technological use and presence Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma External Candidates (non-members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix) Desired Qualifications Demonstrated ability to learn new technology platforms and communicate clearly and effectively both in person and remotely (phone, zoom, chat, IM, etc.). The successful candidate also can pay close attention to detail and demonstrate mutual respect as a moderator in virtual forums.
