Job Description

Acounting Consultants are responsible for assisting project teams in analyzing and auditing assigned client projects. The majority of projects are focused on construction claims, surety, and fidelity-related projects. Consultants will gain the skills and experience to develop within the forensics practice. 

What you will be doing:

• Provide support to the Forensic Accounting team in the evaluation and analysis of construction claims, surety, and fidelity-related projects
• Assist in the audit and reconciliation of the contractor and subcontractor invoices and payments for accuracy and validity for each project
• Assist in internal audit of project expenditures: surety and claims
• Assist in the evaluation of contract damages and preparation of cost analyses
• Analyze and report the potential surety payment and performance bond exposure
• Assist with data gathering efforts including document review and supervision, and quality control of data entry activities
• Analyze the financial condition of bonded and distressed contractors and ensure the timely reporting of all periodic financial information.
• Assist with accounting, payroll, and tax processing on client projects

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, Management, or Finance, must have specific accounting coursework
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting or auditing role required, management consulting and/or construction industry experience preferred
• Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word required - Deltek-Vision accounting system a plus
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills 
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines 
• Ability to work in professional services setting - fast-paced and time-tracked projects
