    Job Description

    THE VOID is a fast growing company, and we are currently looking for a VFX Artist who will work collaboratively with the production team to help create and set the style for our VR experiences that generate a 3D image which appear to surround the user.  You’ll work with a team of artists and engineers who are your peers, who you’ll be inspired by.  Your art will be appreciated by millions of people around the world.  Help us build the future of THE VOID!

    Job Responsibilities

    • Create, and implement real-time particle effects and animated shaders
    • Model, texture, animate, light and optimize VFX assets under direction of Lead Artists
    • Maintain a consistent art style under the direction of the Lead Artist and the Art Director
    • Be willing to learn (and teach) new tools and techniques
    • Collaborate with Designers, Programmers, and other members of the art team and work closely with the tools and engine departments
    • Be meticulous and organized in the approach to tasks, adhering to pipeline workflow

    Required Skills

    • 3+ years of experience with lighting techniques within the game, film/VFX, or animation industry
    • Strong knowledge of physically-based lighting techniques
    • Experienced creating and iterating in physically-based material workflows
    • Expert-level knowledge of color theory and strong sense of light and shadow
    • Strong knowledge of cinematography: theory, application, history, etc
    • Passionate about creating immersive experiences in VR
    • Experienced creating tools in Python, PyMel, and C#
    • Experience with Real time FX
    • Eager to collaborate across all disciplines
