The Welle Made Co. is a Ghanaian-American micro bakery based in the DC area. We are a small, black immigrant and woman-owned bakery. We are well known for our sublime, savory, artisanal hand pies made with the finest ingredients.

We’re introducing food lovers to our sublime hand pies that are inspired by Ghanaian culture and cuisine. Each pie is carefully hand-crafted, filled with fresh ingredients and robust flavors, and then baked until they are golden brown. Our pastries offer the perfect bite – flaky and buttery on the outside and delectable and juicy on the inside.

We participate in several large-scale markets and festivals in the local area and ship our products nationwide. In 2023, we’re launching our products in retail shops. We're lucky to have been featured in several local and national media like District Fray, E! News, and Buzzfeed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an outgoing, passionate, and driven market sales associate to manage various weekly markets and provide exceptional customer service to consumers on weekends. If you love food and are enthusiastic about hospitality, we would love to talk to you about joining our team. Here’s what you will accomplish:

• Deliver exceptional customer service to consumers at various local markets
• Set up, break down, and carefully pack tents, signage, and other equipment
• Perform sales duties using POS systems, such as accurate and efficient processing of various forms of payment (cash, credit cards, etc.) to track all sales
• Meet and exceed monthly sales targets
• Collect and report data, including inventory for each market or event
• Showcase and sell products to all consumers
• Comply with rules and regulations laid out by market vendors and events
• Practice exceptional food safety and sanitation
• Maintain a neat set-up at markets at all times
• Maintain knowledge of all goods sold such that you can thoughtfully discuss sourcing, ingredients, and recommendations with guests
• Complete other duties as assigned

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods as required to perform essential functions
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs or more
• Collaborative, a problem solver
• Ability to manage your time effectively and be organized
• Reliable transportation (preferred)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $100-150 per market
