Leading food distribution company is currently in search of an experienced Buyer to join its team within one of its regional facilities in Indiana. This buyer role will focus primarily on commodity items, especially frozen seafood. The ideal candidate will have current experience as a Buyer or Category Manager within a foodservice distributor, wholesale grocer, or supermarket organization, focused on perishable commodity items.
The Buyer will have overall responsibility for purchasing, including vendor negotiations, in the assigned category. This is a highly collaborative role within the organization, working closely with the sales, marketing, warehousing, transportation, and logistics teams.
