    Job Description

    Projects could include but are not limited to:

    • Improving sales forecasts: Can we leverage advanced analytics to better understand what drives regional sales volume? Can we convert this insight into guidance for our regional sales teams to be more effective?

    • Quantifying climate risk: How could warming temperatures and the increased frequency of extreme weather impact our crop yields and ultimately our bottom line? Are there proactive measures we could take to mitigate this risk? 

    • Optimizing wine production: Which production conditions or techniques (e.g., fermentation temperature, timing of inputs) will result in the best quality wine possible?

    A key component of this role will be to develop your core business strategy toolkit, including efficient problem solving, program management, stakeholder management, and executive communication (e.g., developing a compelling storyline in PowerPoint).

    In addition to project-based work, you will also help develop analytics capabilities across The Wonderful Company. This could include identifying and facilitating priority training sessions or helping business leaders understand how best to deploy analytics solutions. Some travel may be required, primarily within California.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

    • MA/MBA or up to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally with proof of analytics competency (e.g., MBA in business analytics, STEM PhD)
    • Experience with standard business analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Alteryx, PowerBI)
    • Experience in some core analytic methods such as predictive modeling, customer segmentation, simulations, etc.
    • Competency in at least one coding language (e.g., Python, R) is a plus
    • Strong record of extracurricular activity, professional accomplishments, and leadership
    • Ability to explain sophisticated analytical concepts in an understandable manner
    • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption

    Pay Range: $140,000 - $145,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
