    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Director of Risk Management, this role provides support to the CRL (Contracts, Risk, & Legal) team by assisting with administrative duties involving the Company and its legal, risk management, and compliance requirements. It requires the Contracts & Risk Administrator to maintain and organize files, communicate with internal and external customers (including business unit managers, insurance brokers, subcontractors, vendors, and others), provide administrative assistance to the General Counsel and the Director of Risk Management by scheduling and coordinating trainings, meetings and other risk management functions, as well as providing excellent and prompt service to Ballard’s internal business groups. The Contracts & Risk Administrator must be highly organized and detail oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn new software programs as required.    

     

    This position will be based out of the Home Office located in Washougal, Washington.

     

    IDEAL CANDIDATE:

    The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of contract terms.  This person will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and will be capable of writing professional and technical documents for external correspondence.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • State and local licensing – including new applications and renewals
    • Maintains licensing database
    • Processes lien notices on all new projects
    • Supports Contracts Manager with client contract compliance
    • Coordinates Subcontract compliance requirements
    • Monitors and maintains document controls
    • Prepares written correspondence in support of Legal & Risk including notices, pleadings, settlement agreements, etc.
    • Assists with the development of trainings and other presentations
    • Coordinates travel plans for individuals as well as large groups
    • Other duties as required

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Previous experience in construction industry project administration – minimum 3 years preferred
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Advanced writing and proof-reading skills
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
    • Legal assistance or paralegal experience, strongly preferred
    • Must be able to work overtime when necessary

          

    EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Associates Degree or higher required

       

      

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
