    POSITION:

    MSA is looking for enthusiastic civil or environmental engineering students to join our company. Our Rhinelander office is looking for a Wastewater Engineering Intern to join their team for the summer. This position will offer students hands-on project exposure to a variety of wastewater planning, design, and construction projects in small and medium size communities.  Hands-on experience with municipal infrastructure projects will also be possible.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, data analysis, and data evaluation
    • Assist with CAD work
    • Assist with construction submittal review and construction administration
    • Construction observation of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects
    • Construction staking for municipal infrastructure projects

    Required Skills Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • During the time of the internship, must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (sophomore-senior standing) required
    • 2.75 GPA minimum required
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills required
    • Previous civil engineering intern or co-op experience preferred
    • Prior experience in the wastewater field preferred
    • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
    • Civil 3D or Auto CAD coursework and/or experience would be a plus
    • A desire to learn more about municipal wastewater projects
    • This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.

  • Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

    • Prepares and submits clean claims to third party payers either electronically or by paper.
    • Follows billing guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Respond to account inquiries from patients, payers, providers, and/or other staff as requested.
    • Identifies and resolves patient/insurance billing issues.
    • Work closely with team members regarding claim appeals, denials, resolution, and education.
    • Performs and monitors all steps in the billing processes to ensure maximum reimbursement from patients, government and commercial payers as well as from special billing arrangements.
    • Understands Medicare, Medicaid and other commercial payer rules and regulations applicable to billing. Updates business office staff, clinics, residents, and faculty of changes as appropriate.
    • Responsible for ensuring all new residents and providers are oriented to coding, billing, and documentation compliance.
    • Responsible for the continuing coding, billing, and documentation education for all providers and residents.
    • Understands the considerations of coding in Value Based payment contracts.
    • Responsible for reviewing and implementing changes from payer bulletins.
    • Use online healthcare databases and other resources for verification and claim status.
    • Deliver the highest quality service to internal and external customers.
    • Assist other members of the team with projects as needed.
    • Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
