    POSITION:

    MSA is looking for an enthusiastic civil or environmental engineer to join our Champaign, IL office. This position would start in December 2019 following your graduation. We will provide you with the mentoring and team environment that will allow you to learn and grow your professional career. This position will allow you to work with communities through the design and construction phases on a broad range of municipal projects. This position will have an emphasis on the design of water system distribution and treatment, wastewater collection and treatment, storm water conveyance and detention.  Much of the responsibilities will have an emphasis on field engineering and construction observation duties and a lesser emphasis on roadway and site design responsibilities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Preparation of plans of municipal infrastructure projects
    • Preparation of details, specifications, and bidding documents
    • Be part of a design team for Municipal Infrastructure projects
    • Preparation of regulatory permits for projects
    • Preparation of technical reports for projects
    • Provide construction observation services for municipal infrastructure projects
    • Provide construction administration services of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects

    Required Skills Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering by Dec 2019 required
    • Minimum of a 2.75 GPA required
    • Desire to work on storm water and municipal projects
    • Previous engineering internship or co-op experience preferred
    • Previous field inspection experience including roads and utilities preferred
    • AutoCAD experience preferred
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • Successfully passed FE exam preferred

  • Qualifications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR TRAINER

    • Three years of experience in teaching ABE/ASE
    • MA in Adult Education or related field
    • Training or coursework in teaching reading and math
    • Experience with disadvantaged individuals
    • Demonstration of proficiency in oral and written English
    • Technology/Digital Learning proficiency
    • Teacher certification/training or coursework in teaching methodology
    • Completion of at least three instructional workshops in subject area being taught or other relevant topics to the instructional assignment
    • Demonstration of competency in subject area development
    • Knowledge of evaluation techniques for assessing student placement, progress, and test readiness
