    Mud Bay has an opening for a Payroll Specialist.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of all payroll functions.  Mud Bay’s Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely payroll preparation and processing.  The Payroll Specialist ensures staff have been paid in accordance with federal and state regulations.  This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.

    • Processes bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws. • Ensures the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely. • Audit timesheets for hours worked and accuracy. • Communicates actively with Store Operations and Human Resources to review cross departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing. • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. • Researches and responds to Payroll related inquires. • Audits staff house charges to ensure proper deductions. • Responsible for W2 issuance.

     

     

    Required Skills

    Primary Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree desired • Minimum 2 years of experience processing multi-state payroll (currently WA and OR) • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels • Highly detail oriented and organized • Ability to meet assigned deadlines • Excellent communication skills • Microsoft Office (Excel) • Microsoft Dynamics GP experience desired • Enjoys change and is willing to lead continuous improvement • Strong problem-solving skills

     

     

    Wage Range: $20.41 to $25.51 DOQ
